Our David Campbell has over 21 years experience in the solid fuel industry. David is Chairman and PR Manager of the Northern Ireland Association of Chimney Sweeps, trains chimney technicians North and South of the border, has worked closely with the Health and Safety Executive in the successful launch of it's Carbon Monoxide awareness campaign and has given seminars for NI Building Control, NHBC and a number of architects throughout the province. David has instigated meetings with HETAS to try to bring the scheme to Northern Ireland, and has also launched the NIACS StoveCheck, which is a scheme designed to safe guard the general public against unsafe installations. Our NIACS trained, registered chimney technicians in the province can visit your home and assess the installation of a solid fuel appliance to ensure it meets building and fire regulations. We are probably not making any friends in the cheap and cheerful sector of our industry, but it is your family and property at risk when you invite the rogue traders in to your home, and an unsafe installation can affect your home insurance too in the event of worst case scenario.

With this sound background, we have produced what we hope will be an informative site, in an effort to ensure the general public is armed with the correct information with regards to the safe installation and use of wood burning and multi fuel stoves, as well as flue and chimney related issues, but beware of other outfits claiming to be bigger or the best. Without the experience in this industry, these companies are working with appliances that can kill, and solid fuel stoves have done just that.

Clients often say they got more real information from us in 5 minutes, than from any other box moving company in the province, so perhaps we are worth visit. Remember, anyone can sell you a box !!! Check if the company selling you the stove is the same company that actually FITS the stove...this grey area of selling you something and "recommending" someone else to fit it, is regularly a ploy to get these firms out of issues...blaming other parties and leaving you with a glorified ornament. Remember if you feel you are being waffled to...you more than likey are!

It is said that "imitation is the best form of flattery" so it should come as no surprise that other box movers will try to copy what we do. It has come to the attention of Clearview Stoves and ourselves that other outfits are supposedly offering Clearview's for sale, with cheap copes from China suspected. Another ploy from these set-ups is to take a deposit on a Clearview, perhaps showing one or two in a showroom corner, knowing they will never be able to supply the unit, then offer you an alternative brand when they can not fulfill the order. If in doubt, get in touch with Clearview directly and ask if the company you are speaking with is an authorised stockist. If you are going to spend money on a Clearview...you want to get a Clearview.

A big thank you to everyone who called to see us at the self build show at the Kings Hall this year. As usual our stand was reported to be the busiest stove stand at the show all three days, but we were too busy to confirm this, but from what people had said they "found it hard to get near us" You are welcome to call down to the showroom if you had difficulties. Our next outdoor event will be at the Hillsborough Garden festival followed by the game and country fairs. We hope to be at Dobbies Garden centre in Lisburn throughout the year again.
